Blogspiration #1: Inspiring Quote

"Blogspiration" is a weekly blog meme hosted by Growing Up YA & Saz101.

Well, this meme looks interesting, so I decided to try it out. Found it over on Lan's blog (my writing partner), so thanks for that Lan!

I hope I've got this right, but I believe you are supposed to post an image, a quote, or a video and blog about its inspirational effects. Here is mine this week from my Pinterest account:

Well, if that doesn't get me back to work on my current WIP, I don't know what will! After all, your truest dreams are worth the risk....

Happy work-week, everyone. May you have a ton of productivity doing your dreams until they become reality. ;)

  1. I didn't know you have a pinterest account!!! I don't really get Pinterest but I like all the pretty pictures. I need to print this quote and put it up somewhere. Lately I've been daydreaming about the day I'm mega successful and wishing for it to come whilst sitting in front of the television. That's not going to happen.

    1. @Lan: Yeah, I do have a Pinterest account! Do you have one?

Yeah, sitting around and just dreaming is one part of it, but if you don't actually do something about your dreams, they won't come to pass. Love how 'common sense' the whole thing is, lol.

  2. Ugh yes, I second Lan's comment. I have a horrible tendency to get uninspired and then sit around saying, "I am so uninspired, woe is me" instead of, you know, pushing through or doing something about it. But - not to completely excuse myself or anything - but that's kind of human nature, to a certain extent, I think. We like things to be nice and neat and straightforward. But there are no stories in such a life.

    1. @Lan: It's hard to get inspired and do something when you're feeling so woefully uninspired. Yeah, I like things to be straightforward, too, but that's just not how real life works. Too bad for that. Thanks for stopping by! ;)

  3. Hi Cathy!!! *waves* Eeeep!!! I am so excited that this is your first post! And that you're an aspiring author :D

First off, your post is FANTASTIC!!! I really should print it out and paste it all over my wall. It would serve as a good reminder seeing as how I am the QUEEN of procrastination :/

Anyhoo, thank you for sharing and for the awesome bit of inspiration!! Totally made my day :D

  5. Oh, Cathy, I LOVE this. It's so. damn. true... and ultimately, it's lovely to have dreams, but they're only lofty, unattainable things if you let them be. I was reading something on Maggie Stiefvater's blog recently, about he she feels she's always had a 'high risk threshold', or something along those lines... she's not been worried about taking 'risks' because she understands she doesn't really have that much she can't live without. Extra money, cable TV, or all those little 'neccessities' didn't matter to her, so when she wanted to work as a fulltime artist, or writer, it was a risk she was willing to take... and... well, she allowed herself to make her dreams reality, because she wasn't afraid of work.

*hugs* I seriously adore this ♥

  6. Great saying! Thanks for sharing!

I have this pipe dream about making enough money writing so I could afford to be a stay at home mom. Maybe someday . . .

    1. @Camille: You're welcome! I suppose if you're willing to work hard enough, you might be able to make that come true. Writing is so hard to be successful at.

    2. If I do ever make enough money at writing to quit my day job, my kid will probably be 50 years old. :) Heh.

  7. This is beautiful. I've always been a dreamer, but things never really started working out for me until I did. Lesson learned, right? (: Good luck on your WIP!

  8. Very true. I need to be more productive - with blogging and other thing. Although perhaps efficiency is what I really need.
